Foamy, The Making of

"Excellent."

date: March 30, 2006

This sure is very accurate :) All of the things stated are very true. Definately the thought process that goes into the making of Foamy movies is in line with these shown steps XD haha. Good movie dude, you're spot on.

Hanna Barbera Fiction

"Freaking hilarious."

date: March 27, 2006

Man, definately one of the most original ideas for a toon I've seen in a long while! I loved it! As a big fan of Pulp Fiction, I think the sound clips you chose to animate are extremely good, and I'm hoping this was just the intro to many episodes! The graphics were clean, the animation could use a bit more work (since you only have to focus on the graphics, put more effort into movements, expressions, etc, it'll make everything a whole lot better), and try to up the sound quality as much as possible.
I'm not sure how you're going about getting the sound files, but certainly don't use soundboards, they're already optimized and sound like shit as it is.
Keep it up man, this was awesome!

Author's Response:

Thanks for the great review. I'll take some of your suggestions into consideration. And I may make more of these, but with different movies. As for the sounds, I get them at various sound file websites. You just type in a movie or tv show into Google and then type wavs.

"Sup dood."

Nice little birthday flash... do you feel like making me one in July? hehe. Hmm, how to describe the mood of the movie... I'd say "^_^" sums it up pretty well. Colourful movie with a nice song. Short and sweet, I enjoyed it.

Author's Response:

Speaking of short and sweet, so is your review! :O OMG, what a shock.

And I might do one for you :P We never talk anymore so I probably won't, but you never know.

A Short History of Europe

"Great idea."

date: March 19, 2006

At first I was thinking this must be for a school project or something as it's very informative. But you made it funny, which is the main reason why I kept watching. None of this politically correct bull, you said it how it is. Very enjoyable to sit through, even though it was a bit long.
It had a lot of content, and you didn't blow too much out of proportion.
Things to work on:
AUDIO! - haha, as you know the audio quality is quite low, most probably due to the desire to keep the filesize down... well, I think this suffered overall due to the sloppy audio. A filesize of around 3,000kb is still acceptable.
ANIMATION - There wasn't a lot in this, and it showed. Although the movie was backboned by the audio, some more complex animation would have made it a lot better. However I realise this was your first flash, so you did well not to screw anything up too bad :D
Overall, very funny, very informative, and very original. You should make a series, doing all the different continents (well, the ones that matter anyway :P)!

Author's Response:

Yeah, when did being P.C. kill the world's sense of humour?
And nah, it wasn't for school or anything.
Thanks for the review, and we'll be sure to make those changes for "A Short History of America".

A Minute of Mario

"Good work :)"

submission: A Minute of Mario
date: March 19, 2006

Generally, I dislike these 8bit, 16bit, whateverbit Mario movies. They tend to be either boring or stupid, with Mario cracking his head on boxes or falling over a lot... but this was far more entertaining, and I liked how you split the movie up into little sections. Nothing bores me more than watching Mario walk through an entire level pulling the same stupid stunts. So good work with it being original.
In addition, you used some great sound effects; you weren't held back by the selective sound effects that are authentic to the Mario games, you used some of your own. Very nice work mate, I enjoyed it.

Salad Fingers Episode 7

"Damn nice."

date: January 28, 2006

Didn't enjoy it as much as I have with the other SF movies, simply because this one wasn't as scary or gorey, pretty much :P
I really loved the graphics, though. You did a great job with the detail on Kenneth XD hahaha.
Audio was nice as usual, with some pretty funny dialogue from time to time - still, I think it's been better in past episodes.
I'd much prefer it if the next episode just contained a lot more whacky violence and such XD (Like in episode 1).
Still, very good work.

This wasn't bad for a ddr-type game, in my opinion. If people get pissed off at the fact that the background is seizure-riffic, they should avoid all ddr games. The graphics weren't that awesome, stick figure didn't really have any detail to him.
The gameplay itself was pretty average, as all you had to do was hold down the arrows as soon as you saw them up the top, so timing had nothing to do with it... and also, it wasn't that fast. You didn't need to have so many life recharges in there, I only needed it once... all the other times I was full.
Anyways, pretty decent game.

"OGM are you serious?"

date: January 28, 2006

Was this lady actually on TV?? Saying all that shit on a TV show? ROFL!!! That's one golden find, then, my man XD haha.
Considering how many sounds you were able to fit on this soundboard, I'm suprised that the filesize was only 345kb! I mean, the sound quality was pretty good, and you had two whole pages of sounds :O That's some nice work! Haha. Pretty funny stuff man, everyone needs a soundboard with a religious person screaming about the dark side every now and then... hahaha, if her behaviour wasn't staged just for TV, I'm amazed XD hahaha. Good work.

Country Stick

"Hah! Based on the streets of Eltham?"

submission: Country Stick
date: January 28, 2006

Hehe, I just loved the accents right from the start. It immediately gave me the image of a country road in Victoria somewhere, great stuff.
Graphics were alright, should have added some detail to the character's faces and what not, to spruce things up a bit.
Audio quality was shitty, and you could have easily afforded to have it clearer, since the filesize was so small, but I enjoyed the dialogue - dragged on for a tad too long, though. Less chit-chat, more shovel bashing please :P
All in all, pretty entertaining for me XD nice work!

submission: BreadFruitClock 7

Far, far too short to be enjoyable, you easily could have put more effort into the presentation and build-up to this movie and fight. The animation was very nice and smooth and all, and I got a chuckle out of that last frame... but more of a plot really would have helped here. Perhaps something like Battery walking in on BFC tapping Battery's wife or something like that, hence a battle... Yeh, definately needed more levels to it.
